In Feb 2007, Anne ‘Walkit’ posted an enquiry on the Country Walking magazine internet forum, looking for volunteers to come together to walk a National Trail in the SE of England. A number of people responded and an introductory circular walk was arranged for the end of March in Kent. This initial group decided to ‘do’ the North Downs Way in day walks from the Farnham end, meeting once or twice a month, and picked a start date of Sunday 14th April.
